The history of Luta Ferma™ and the HotFarm brand
We are the Rodinov family – Hristo, Darina, Elena, Slavena and Stoyan, and this is our story. The story of The first chili pepper farm in Bulgaria – Luta Ferma, and the brand that brings warmth and pride to our hearts – Hot Farm. It all started with a seemingly crazy idea and turned into our passion, mission, and family business with international significance.

"About crazy ideas that turn into something meaningful"
In 2011, Hristo brought home some chili pepper seeds and was adamant that he would grow these exotic plants at home.
The rest of the family greeted the idea with laughter and a dose of skepticism, but he didn't give up. He put in tireless work, hours of reading, and a huge desire to prove that Bulgaria can grow the hottest peppers in the world.
The initial hobby quickly turned into a passion – in just a year we had over 300 varieties in our yard.
But Hristo didn't stop there.
He began experimenting with sauces and spices, inspired by the abundance in our garden, and thus the seed of HotFarm.
The road to success
In 2016, we decided it was time to turn this passion into something big.
We rebuilt our greenhouses and planted them entirely with chili peppers, created a business, and put in our all.
In three months, Hristo and Darina managed to create 39 unique products, which are currently part of our portfolio.
Today, a 900-square-meter farm has become a place with 16 acres of arable land, where over 80 varieties of chili peppers are grown.
We work in a closed production cycle – from seed to finished product, and we put care into every step.
In 2021, we put Bulgaria on the world stage – we created the hottest Bulgarian pepper, "Bulgarian Spirit", which is officially certified worldwide.
It is a symbol of Hristo's perseverance and talent - the true "spirit" of our brand.

From Hristo's crazy hobby, today we are a family that runs the first chili farm in Bulgaria and together we managed to step onto the international stage.
We grow over 80 varieties of hot peppers and develop new products to show the world what a Bulgarian family can create with love and dedication.
