Origin and characteristics of the variety

The Blue Eye or Blue Fire Pepper variety is the result of a selection of ornamental chili peppers, combining high aesthetics with real spiciness. The fruits are about 4–6 cm long, have a thin skin and iridescent colors – from deep blue to fiery red when fully ripe. The spiciness is medium – about 20,000–50,000 SHU , which allows the peppers to be used in a variety of dishes without being too dominant.

Besides being beautiful, the pepper is also delicious - with a fruity, slightly smoky aroma that persists even after drying or canning.

Growing in Bulgaria

Blue Eye seedlings are suitable for growing in pots, beds or greenhouses. The plant is compact – reaching a height of about 40–60 cm, which makes it excellent for balconies, terraces and urban gardening. It prefers a sunny location and nutrient-rich soil.

Planting is done after the last spring frosts have passed (after May 6). Water moderately. The plant begins to bear fruit in mid-summer, and the harvest continues until autumn.
