Money.bg: Notfarm - the family (hot) business that will enter the markets in Japan, the USA and Canada

"The business environment in Bulgaria is getting better, especially for family businesses and people who are truly dedicated to what they do. This is what Slavena Rodinova, the executive director of Notfarm, commented in the studio of Moneu.bg. Currently, the Bulgarian company for the production of spicy products is mainly present in our market, as well as in the markets of Poland and China. However, the business will soon expand.

"We are still developing our business mainly in Bulgaria, Poland and China, but now we will expand further into Europe. And next we will have new and distant markets, where we will be present, including the USA, Canada and Japan," Slavena shared with us.

Closed production cycle

The chili pepper farm of the Slavena Rodinova family is located in the Varna village of Strashimirovo. It grows over 80 hundred chili peppers, among which are the hottest in the world. The company has a completely closed production cycle - from seed to finished product. They produce the production themselves, have their own company, and are typical representatives of an entirely family business.

Of course, there are also difficulties. As with almost every business at the moment, they are mainly related to the lack of personnel. That is why Notfarm invests in the qualifications of the employees who work with them.

"However, I definitely see potential in Bulgaria for the development of new ideas, despite the difficulties. There are difficulties everywhere in the world, as and competition. I think that it also helps us that we are a family business. So far, we have no external investments, no foreign projects, state aid or European subsidies. We have built everything with our own funds."

Notfarm believes that it is very important for every business to be adaptable. They sell their products both online and in-store, and the basic profile of their customers is already diverse. That's why, unlike in the beginning, when the farm offered a small number of very hot peppers, today they have both very hot products and very mildly spicy ones, which are suitable for every type of soup with every taste."
