"A family grows the hottest pepper in Bulgaria near Varna.
And it's not about something spicy – it's 25 times stronger than the current champion.
Hundreds of hot peppers grow on the family farm, Their properties have been recognized even by guests from Mexico.
And the story of the spicy farm begins almost as a joke. Hristo Rodinov takes care of more than 300 varieties of chili peppers. They are located on the family farms. The plantations appear after a random conversation.
"During a completely random meeting with some friends, we started talking about chili peppers. An acquaintance of mine was in Mexico and told me how chili peppers are eaten by small children there. The comment was that there are no chili peppers in Bulgaria. Naturally, I bit him a little then. We argued... and I said to myself - there's no way there aren't chili peppers in Bulgaria. And after a few days, when I searched through websites, it really turned out that chili peppers are one huge family, actually 5 families," says Itso.
